Bats in your attic or in your property are a huge problem

Bats can quickly turn your attic into their cave, creating a nightmare situation. The damage can become significant if bats are allowed to remain in a structure. A colony of bats can range in size from a few bats to thousands. The biggest problem to homeowners is the accumulation of bat guano (bat feces) and urine which damages sheet rock, insulation and creates a terrible sickening odor. The most common health issues associated with bats include rabies, bat bugs and possible illness associated with exposure to contaminated bat guano. 

Why Bats in Your Attic is a Big Problem

Bats often start out as a minor issue, but if left alone, they will eventually become a larger problem that could end up costing you a lot of money in repairs. 

Bats searching for a place to live often find attics to be the perfect place as they are warm and can become a makeshift cave. The colony will form a large cluster, and after this happens, it can become very dangerous. While they are great for the environment, it is risky for bats to be in such proximity to humans. They are known to spread sicknesses which is why you should not attempt to approach or remove bats on your own.

When bats are living in your attic, their fecal matter, or guano, will eventually begin to pile up. Guano contains many elements which could cause health concerns. When it dries out, it can crumble and go airborne, spreading contaminants throughout the home. If you spot guano in your home, do not hesitate to call for expert removal as soon as possible. The first step Critter Cowboys will take is to find out how they are entering your home. Bats can enter through incredibly small openings, as small as 3/8″ by 1″. You need to get the bats out, and seal all entry points, but these things must be done legally and humanely.  After we successfully confirmed the bats are gone from your property we will return and remove the bat valve or bat curtain and clean-up and disinfect and deodorize the affected area.
